  • DAY-1

    CORINTH CANAL, EPIDAURUS & OLYMPIA

On this first day of the tour, you will be collected early in the morning from your hotel, your luggage loaded onto an air conditioned luxury coach, and you will start your epic adventure, westward towards the Peloponnese. First stop will be the Corinth Canal, a marvel of modern engineering. Ancient Greeks dragged their boats across this narrow piece of land that separated the Aegean from the Adriatic Sea. Since 1893, the Isthmus effectively makes the Peloponnese an island. Departing the Isthmus, the tour makes its way towards Epidaurus for a visit to the famous amphitheater. The over 2,000 year old, well-preserved amphitheater, boasts the most excellent acoustic experience ever. While being on stage, one may hear someone whispering at the back row. A sight to be experienced to be believed, it holds amazing facts which our guide will be more than willing to divulge. Soon after the coach heads towards Nafplio, the first capital of Greece, a gorgeous picturesque town with an intriguing fort in the centre of its harbour. After lunch, the coach makes its way towards Ancient Mycenae, home to one of the oldest civilizations found in Greece. Home to the infamous King Agamemnon, this site of antiquity was once one of the most important epicentres of the Bronze Age. The Lionʼs Gate, the crowning jewel of the site, will leave you standing in awe, while you explore along with your English speaking guide. After this visit, the coach will head towards the town of Olympia, in west Peloponnese, where you will check into your hotel for the evening. During your included dinner, you may have the chance to get to know your travelling companions, and reminisce on the amazing sights your witnessed.

  • DAY-2

    ANCIENT OLYMPIA & DELPHI

After breakfast and checkout, you will board the coach for a short journey to the site of Ancient Olympia, home of the Olympic Games, and the location where the flame for the Modern Olympic Games is lit. Your tour of this site, begins with the Sanctuary Of Zeus, followed by the rest site of the Olympic Games. Your English speaking guide will give you a complete overview of the site and its numerous temples and stadiums, and lead you to the Olympia Archaeological Museum, home to artefacts from the Ancient Games. Soon after you will travel North to the post of Patras and then East to Rio, where you will travel over the largest suspension bridge in Greece. A modern engineering marvel, the bridge spans the Gulf of Corinth, joining the Peloponnese to the Mainland. Once you are through, the coach will lead you north to the quaint town of Nafpaktos. Later in the afternoon you will travel to the ancient town of Delphi, where you will check into your hotel for the evening. Dinner will be provided at the hotel's restaurant.

  • DAY-3

    DELPHI & METEORA

Today, one of the most memorable days of the tour, you will check out of your hotel, after breakfast, and be driven a short distance to the site of the Sanctuary at Delphi. This is one of the most sacred and beautiful sites in Greece. Located high upon the hills of Mount Parnassos, Delphi is to this day a sacred location of immense spiritual importance, home to the famous oracle, vestal virgins; caretakers to the temple, and sacred geometry patterns throughout its location. Your guide will provide all the necessary information for this site, whilst you take in the ruins of the temples, bath houses, and the well preserved amphitheater. Your entry ticket grants you passage to the Delphi Archaeological Museum, with its fascinating array of artefacts. At about lunch time, you will board the coach and make your way towards Kalambaka, travelling through the towns of Amphissa, Lamia and Trikala on the way. The scenery changes pace as you travel north; the mountains become austere and the land more lush. Arriving in Kalambaka you will check into your hotel and have dinner.

  • DAY-4

    METEORA

Waking in Kalambaka, in the shadow of the mountains, you will spend the morning at one of the most unique locations in Greece, and indeed the planet. After check out and breakfast the coach will make its way up the mountain to the site of the monasteries of Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Meteora translates to “suspended in the air”. A name that pretty much paints a picture of this unique location, where the monasteries are perched high upon the sheer cliffs and mountain faces. Many years ago, stairs did not exist, and access to these structures was indeed non-existent. However, the monks and their supplies where winched to the monasteries via pulleys and windlasses. Retractable rope ladders were used to move between monasteries. Today these monasteries are still considered home to many monks. In this tour you will have the chance to visit some of the monasteries that are more easily accessible to the public, and take in their artistic wonders, and experience a different kind of life, bereft of modern luxuries, but filled with spiritual enlightenment, high above the ground, soaring like eagles. After the Meteora tour, the coach will take you back to Athens, travelling through Thermopylae (The Hot Gates), where King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans held the Persian Army. After a short stop for photos, you will travel to the town of Kamena Vourla, and back to Athens to your hotel for the night.
